How does it work?
Liquid quartz
The main component of our coating is a nano-silicon compound (SiO₂) and water.
The full formula is a commercial secret.
It is a completely safe and non-toxic material, confirmed by testing and our 10 years of practical experience.
Total impermeability
If used according to the instructions provided with the purchase, the coating completely fills even the smallest pores on the surface of the ceramic piece.
This creates a water-repellent layer that does not wash off, break down, or lose its properties throughout the entire lifespan of the product.
Food safe
We understand that this is an important concern for all our clients, as it is for us. In addition to food safety test protocols, we have extensive experience using tableware treated with this coating in the restaurant industry.
Below, we provide a detailed explanation of this.
Where can it be used?
You can use the coating as a complete alternative to traditional glaze, performing just one firing and then applying the coating.
Alternatively, it can be used partially, treating only the unglazed areas of the ceramic pieces with the quartz-based coating.
It can be applied to ceramic tiles for kitchens and bathrooms, cutting boards and work surfaces.
The range of applications is broad.

Momo pottery
We originally developed No Glaze exclusively for our own studio.
Our family studio has been operating for about 10 years. From the very beginning, we focused on alternative firing methods (Raku, Saggar, etc.). Traditional glazes were not suitable for preserving the results we achieved on our ceramics, so we were looking for an alternative.
Over several years, we worked on this together with our assistant, Ekaterina, who was then a student of Materials Science. Eventually, we managed to stabilize the formula and complete testing.
We originally developed the No Glaze formula exclusively for ourselves, but in 2021 we decided to share what we had achieved.
